Terrence Evans, the founder, President, and CEO of Totally Joined For Achieving Collaborative Techniques, (TJFACT), was raised on the tough streets of Chicago’s southside by a single mother. Early on, Terrence proved to be an overcomer, becoming the first member in his family to attend college. No stranger to setbacks, Terrence found his first entry into higher learning too tumultuous, ending after one semester at Western Illinois University with a 1.2 GPA. In the spirit of an overcomer, Terrence pivoted to a path that led to the U.S. Army and served his country during the Gulf War in Iraq. This experience transformed Terrence. It provided him with a newfound zest for life that resulted in a passion for serving his nation, community, and mankind. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Terrence returned to college and received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University in Denver. However, he did not stop there. Terrence furthered his collegiate endeavor and earned a Master of Business Administration from The American Intercontinental University in Illinois.
Post-graduation, Terrence entered corporate America. He built a 30-year executive and leadership career that included stints at multiple Fortune 500 companies and educational institutions including Emory University, Lucent Technologies, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Corporation, and Optical Fiber Solutions. Tapping into his passion for service, he transitioned to the Foreign Service as a Presidential Appointee and became a Contracting Officer’s Representative with the Department of State supporting the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. Utilizing the knowledge, he gained watching corporations successfully support government programs and missions, he left the Department of State and launched TJFACT in 2009. Terrence was intentional about the core values he wanted to be entrenched in the company’s DNA. All operations were centered on service to customers and employees to maximize their success. Terrence and his staff collaborate with non-profit organizations to identify families in need of financial assistance annually during the holiday season. Keeping the goal of service in mind, Terrence launched Be The Dash, a non-profit initiative that is comprised of three key focuses:
- Youth Mentorship: The Terrence Evans Golf Academy teaches at-risk kids the game of golf.
- College Scholarship Program: Inner City Youth Scholarship Program for deserving High School students attending College.
- Voter Engagement: Provides Transportation assistance to the polls to encourage voter participation.
Additionally, TJFACT has awarded over 75 academic scholarships; serves as a mentor to small businesses entering the federal contracting space; and continues to make a difference for its government customers in services provided.
